  • Take Me to the River

    Will Hobbs, Steven Boyer

    Audio CD
Dylan, a teen from North Carolina, could not be more excited about a week of canoeing and rafting on the Rio Grande with his cousin from Texas. What starts as a fun trip turns into a lot more as a raging river tests their survival skills. Will Hobbs's keen knowledge of taking on a river is paired with Steven Boyer's fine narration. Boyer differentiates the boys slightly, but effectively. A Mexican boy and a man the teens encounter are as different as can be. Boyer maneuvers through these four main characters as deftly as the teens paddle through the rushing rapids. M.B. AudioFile 2011, Portland, Maine [Published: JUNE 2011]
